While driving from one friend’s house in Oregon to another’s in Wyoming, it only made sense to make a stop in the Grand Tetons. I wasn’t sure what to expect, and was astounded by the high costs to stay in Jackson Hole, so called up Leisure Sports and rented a tent, sleeping bags, chairs, stove, lantern, and pads for a fraction of the price of a hotel room. As soon as we got into the park, I had no regrets. There is no way to see the Grand Tetons better than sleeping at the foot of them. We found a private site at Gros Ventre Campground, where buffalo roamed in the distance, and couldn’t have been happy. A couple of days of hiking and exploring weren’t nearly enough time. These pictures are only a tease. I have plans to go back!
